I still practice nursing and thoroughly enjoy it. I’m privileged to be working under a well established functional medicine doctor who has let me apply my nutrition based care within his practice and has guided and mentored me over the last 10 years.
Since qualifying with post grad study in Nutrition and Naturopathy I have also recently become trained and qualified through ACNEM (Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine). I believe having 15 years of nursing practice under my belt, is a great fit with the functional and integrative nutritional approach I now have to health.
Prior to this I was working at a busy plastic surgical unit in London, where I became disillusioned with the current health paradigm. We seemed to have become the “ambulance at the bottom of the cliff”. I wanted to be building fences at the top of that cliff. This is when I embarked on a 3 year double diploma in Nutrition and Naturopathy.
I am also a mum of three young children. I like to keep fit by running and doing pilates. I’m passionate about health and wellbeing, and have seen too many people who don’t prioritise their health and succumb to unnecessary ill health.
Poor lifestyle choices, such as smoking, overuse of alcohol, poor diet, lack of physical activity and inadequate relief of chronic stress are key contributors in the development and progression of preventable chronic diseases, including obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and several types of cancer.
I would love the opportunity to work with you and focus on the Nutritional, Emotional and Physical aspects of your own personal wellbeing.
