I prioritise strength training and lifting weights above all else – but why?
It helps build muscle mass, increase bone density, and improve overall strength, making daily activities easier and reducing the risk of injury as we age.
Regular strength training also boosts metabolism, aiding in weight management and fat loss.
It also enables us to produce more energy, this is because the more muscle mass we have the more mitochondria we can make and it’s in the mitochondria where energy (ATP) is created.
Our hormones are also synthesised in the mitochondria. These little powerhouses are often referred to as the “Mighty Mitochondria”.
